Reminder Regarding 2025-2026 CPE Requirements and Exemptions
The following is provided to clarify CPE requirements and exemptions for the 2025-2026 CPE cycle, ending on June 15, 2026. All licensees must complete their respective CPE course requirements by June 15, 2026. CPE courses will be unavailable from June 16 - July 14, 2026.
Applicants who become licensed as a salesperson after January 1, 2026 — including those who completed the NSAR Salesperson Licensing Course and passed the NSREC exam, as well as applicants transferring an existing salesperson licence from another Canadian jurisdiction — are exempt from the current mandatory CPE course, Professionalism Sells.
However, this exemption does not apply to broker-level licensees. All associate brokers, managing associate brokers, and brokers are required to complete both mandatory CPE courses, Professionalism Sells and Keeping It on the Rails. This is a requirement regardless of whether they became originally licensed in a broker-level class in Nova Scotia or if they transferred their broker level licence to Nova Scotia from another Canadian jurisdiction.
Although exempt salespeople as indicated above are not required to complete the 2025-2026 CPE course Professionalism Sells, they are still welcome to complete the course voluntarily.
