Brad Chisholm, Registrar

As Registrar, Brad Chisholm has overall responsibility for the effective administration of real estate regulation in Nova Scotia. His role includes providing leadership, integrity and fair-mindedness to the administration of the Real Estate Trading Act, and to ensure the highest possible level of consumer protection and knowledge in the operation of the real estate brokerage industry in Nova Scotia. Brad is responsible for enforcing the Real Estate Trading Act, ensuring efficient and cost-effective registration, and contributing to improvements in policy, legislation and operations.

Carolin MacDonald, Compliance Manager

As Compliance Manager, Carolin MacDonald's role is to oversee Industry Member compliance with the rules of the Commission’s Standards of Business Practice and to provide guidance to consumers and Industry Members of their ethical obligation. Carolin is responsible overseeing compliance investigations as well as the province wide inspection service, which includes auditing trust accounts and reviewing brokerages’ record keeping. Compliance audits and investigations are designed to maintain a high-level of consumer protection.

Susan Best, Compliance Investigator

The Compliance Investigator investigates and mediates consumer complaints, writes compliance reports for the Registrar, and researches and present cases at Complaints Review Committee meetings. Susan acts the main contact for complaints from both the public and the industry and provides direct assistance and support.

Courtney Clayton, Compliance Auditor

Courtney conducts brokerage trust account audits on a yearly basis and performs full brokerage audits of all brokerage record keeping and trade practices on a three year cycle. This includes on-site audits, meeting with brokers or managers to discuss the results, doing any follow-up required and reporting the results of audits to the Compliance Manager. The main focus of the Compliance Auditor is to carry out the actual audits and to educate Industry Members, in a proactive way, when corrective action is required.

Pam Crane, Licensing Officer

Pam Crane has two roles as Licensing Officer for the Commission. The Licensing Officer is responsible for all licensing administration, which includes new applications as well as renewals for brokerages, brokers/managers, and salespeople. In addition, Pam assists the Registrar in the general administration of the day-to-day operation of the Commission.

Peggy Kell, Communications Officer

As Communications Officer, Peggy Kell is responsible for the Commission’s internal and external communications. Peggy develops a wide variety of publications for both consumers and Industry Members, maintains the Commission Web site, and assists the Registrar and Board of Directors in the implementation of the Commission’s strategic plan. She is also the primary contact for all advertising questions, concerns, and issues.

Elaine Moulton, Administrator

As the Commission’s Administrator, Elaine is responsible for all administrative duties of the Commission and provides support to all other positions. Elaine acts as administrator to the Board of Directors and records and distributes the minutes of all Board and Committee meetings. Elaine is also responsible for administering and invigilating the licensing exams and holding exam reviews.

Cathy Campbell, Accountant

As the Commission’s Accountant, Cathy is responsible for the Commission's accounting processes. Cathy's role includes, but is not limited to, recording and monitoring of financial information, financial reporting, and cost analysis. Cathy is also involved with purchasing and general operational administration.
